Huntington - The Marshall University Department of Athletics held its 12th Annual Olympic Sports Banquet Monday night at the Don Morris Room of the Memorial Student Center, an event sponsored by the Chapman Printing Company.

Each of the 12 Olympic sports were recognized for their accomplishments during the 2007-08 season,as coaches handed out leadership awards for their respective sports.

Monday night's award winners were as follows:

Sam Hood Soccer Leadership Award: Brandon Lacko
Women's Soccer Leadership Award: Liz Orton
Softball Leadership Award: Deanna Tourville
Baseball Leadership Award: Tyler Gatrell
Swimming and Diving Leadership Award: Ashley McIlvain
Men's Golf Leadership Award: Trent Schambach
Tennis Leadership Award: Kellie Schmitt
Women's Golf Leadership Award: Whitney Wolejko

Dr. Jose Ricard Team Academic Award (Fall): Women's Golf - 3.49 GPA
Dr. Tom Scott Team Academic Award (Spring): Men's Golf - 2.98 GPA
Dr. Tom Scott Team Academic Award (Fall): Baseball - 2.93 GPA
