C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal List

IRVING, Texas - A total of 334 student-athletes have earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal during the 2007-08 academic year, Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced today. The medals, 26 of which went to Marshall University student-athletes, are given to those C-USA competitors who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.

For the second year in a row, Tulsa had the most academic medal winners with 41, followed by Memphis with 38, SMU with 37 and East Carolina with 36. The total number of academic medal recipients increased by four percent this season.

The Thundering Herd women's cross country and swimming and diving teams each earned four medals apiece, most among the 26 awarded to MU's athletic teams.
