The Marshall University Co-ed Cheerleading team claimed top honors at the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) College Camp at the University of Louisville from August 4-6, 2007. The Thundering Herd cheerleaders were selected by the camp staff and their peers as the "Best All Around" cheer team, which elicits a paid bid to attend NCA College Nationals in April.
In addition, Marshall was chosen as the "Most Collegiate" among the 23 teams in attendance. The Herd cheerleaders also won the "Most Spirited" award for the ninth consecutive season. Marshall is the only team to have won this award since the camp began at UL nine years ago.
Individual award winners include: Hali Eplin (All-American), Candice Michael (All-American), Erica Shaffer (All-American) and Andrew Lowers (All-American mascot). The team of Ernay Goble, Brittney Hughart, Sara Holsinger and Natalie Nida were named to the Top Gun All-Girl Stunt Team.
