Men's Cross Country Takes Third Place at Mel Brodt Invitational

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Sophomore Eric Frohnapfel (Morgantown, W.Va.) finished ninth to pace Marshall men's cross country team to a third place finish at the Mel Brodt Invitational Saturday. Frohnapfel, who won the 2007 C-USA Newcomer of the Year, clocked in with a time of 26:34.13. Just behind Frohnapfel in 10th place was freshman Matt Schiffbauer (Morgantown, W.Va.) with a time of 26:47.33. The men's team finished the meet with an average time of 27:18.69. On the women's side overall the team placed sixth led by sophomore Kathleen Clark (Twinsburg, Ohio) with a time of 19:09.68 placing 15th. Clark has finished first among Thundering Herd runners in both of the team's first two meets. Cross Country will be back in action Sept. 27 at the Sean Early Invitational in Chicago, Ill.
