Cincinnati, Ohio- Jon Nelson and Marion Brooks each placed in the top 10 in their respective races at the Queen City Invitational on Friday, Sept. 16 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Nelson (Barboursville, W.Va./Cabell Midland) finished in 10th with a time of 27:04.63 in the men's 8k run. Brooks (Flat Top, W.Va./Pike View) ran 20:09.64 in the women's 5k run and finished seventh.

Other top finishers for the Thundering herd women are Stephanie Eastman (Spencer, W.Va./ Roane County) in 14th with a time of 21:14.26 and Emily Bailey (Kenova, W.Va./Spring Valley) ran a time of 21:21.22 to finish in 15th, respectively. For the men's side Travis Epling (Point Pleasant, W.Va./Point Pleasant) finished 14th with a time of 27:49.14.

Overall the men ended the race in third place behind Cincinnati and Morehead state. The women also finished third, behind Cincinnati and Morehead State, and defeated Kentucky State.

The Herd will run next on Oct. 1 in the Loyola Invitation held in Chicago, Ill.
