Men's Cross Country Finishes Third at Furman Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Marshall University men's cross country team finished in third place out of 17 teams Saturday at the Furman Invitational.

Sophomore Eric Frohnapfel (Morgantown, W.Va.) finished fourth overall (26:56) in the contest marking his best finish at Marshall. Before Saturday Frohnapfel top finish was ninth at the Mel Brodt Invitational back in September.

Joining Frohnapfel with a top ten finish was freshman Matt Shiffbauer (Morgantown, W.Va.) who placed sixth with a time of 27:14.

In the women's division the Thundering Herd finished seventh out of 18 teams. Top finisher for the women this week was junior Allison Cox (Scott Depot, W.Va.) with a time of 20:10.
