Men's Cross Country Finishes 4th at Furman Invitational

Greenville, S.C. - Marshall University men's cross country team finishes 4th out of 18 teams in the 35th annual Furman Invitational Saturday. The finish is the teams best of the season topping its 5th finish at the Mel Brodt Invitational back in September. Senior Travis Epling (Point Pleasant, W.Va.) continued his successful season by finishing 11th in the men's 8k race with a time of 26:48. Epling has been the men's top finisher in three out of four meets this season for Marshall. On the women's side, freshman Darby Mullen (Pecks Mill, W.Va.) finished in 36th place with a time of 19:41. The women's team finished 9th out of 19 teams. The Herd will have two weeks off before competing in the Conference USA Championships in El Paso, Texas October 27.
