ORLANDO, Fla.- Marshall cross country ends the inaugural C-USA season with three runners in the top 25 at the C-USA championship at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex hosted by UCF.

Marion Brooks (Flat Top, W.Va.) finished in 22nd place in the women's 5k event with a time of 18:21.01, her best of the season. The next Marshall runners to cross the finish line were Hannah Koverick (Hurricane, W.Va.) and Stephanie Eastman (Spencer, W.Va.) in 57th and 58th places with times of 19:36.32 and 19:38.96. Rounding out the Herd runners were Stephanie Achilles (Deptford, N.J.), Anna Chaney ;(Huntington, W.Va.), Emily Bailey (Kenova, W.Va.) and Rebecca Minardi (Dayton, Ohio).in 73-75 places. The meet marks the last cross country race for seniors Eastman and Achilles.

Top runner Jon Nelson (Barboursville, W.Va.) finished his season with a 19th place finish in the men's 8k event. Nelson's time of 25:44.21is his best of the season by a little less then one minute. Travis Epling (Point Pleasant, W.Va.) finished four places behind Nelson in 23rd with a time of 25:58.57, also his best time of the season. Matt Null (Hometown, W.Va.) was the next Marshall athlete to finish the event in 32nd place with a time of 26:19.73. Ryan Slone (Chesapeake, Ohio) Andrew Ramell (Mechanicsburg, Pa.), John Davis (Kenova, W.Va.) and Straten Schemel (Burnt House, W.Va.) closed out the race for Marshall in 38th, 39th, 42nd and 44th places, respectably.

Marshall's men's team finished the event in sixth place with an average time of 26:26.83. UTEP claimed the top place with an average time of 24:04.71.

Rice earned first place for the women's teams with an average time of 17:38.28. Marshall finished in 11th place with an average time of 19:51.14
