Marshall Men's Cross Country Places Fourth at C-USA

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Marshall University men's cross country team finished in fourth place for the second year in a row at the Conference USA Championships in Memphis Saturday.

Sophomore Eric Frohnapfel (Morgantown, W.Va.) finished the men's 8k race in a time of 25:15 to earn him the top spot among Marshall runners placing 14th overall.

Adding on to his impressive freshman year was Matt Schiffbauer (Morgantown, W.Va.) who placed just one spot behind Frohnapfel in 15th with a time of 25:23.

The women's squad finished in 10th place for the second consecutive year being led by sophomore Kathleen Clark (Twinsburg, Ohio) who placed 48th with a time of 19:38. Clark has finished as the top runner for the Thundering Herd in four out of six meets this year.

The men's squad finished the day with an average time of 26:13 while the women averaged 19:54 in the 5k event.

Both groups will prepare for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals in Princeton, N.J. Saturday Nov. 15.
