Marshall Cross Country Finishes Season at Lehigh University

Bethlehem, Pa.- Jon Nelson (Barboursville, W.Va.) and Marian Brooks (Flat Top, W.Va.) once again led the Thundering Herd to the finish lines at the NCAA Regional Championship this afternoon at Lehigh University. The men finished the meet in 25th place and the women closed out the season with a 23rd place finish. Brooks finished with a time of 22:26.7 for 69th place in the women's 6k run. Hannah Koverick (Hurricane, W.Va.) was the next Marshall runner to cross the finish line with a time of 23:13.6 in 104th place. Stephanie Eastman (Spencer, W.Va.) ran for a 126th place finish with a time of 23:38.1. Freshmen Anna Chaney (Huntington, W.Va.) and Rebecca Minardi (Dayton, Ohio) crossed the finish line with just eight seconds between them for 157th and 158th places. Rounding out the women's side was Stephanie Achilles (Deptford, N.J.) in 164th place. In the men's 10k Nelson ran for 103rd place with a time of 32:48.4. Eight places behind Nelson Travis, Epling (Point Pleasant, W.Va.) finished with a time of 33:02.3. The next four Herd runners, Straten Schemel (Burnt House, W.Va.), Andrew Ramell (Mechanicsburg, Pa.), Matt Null (Hometown, W.Va.) and Ryan Slone (Chesapeake, Ohio) crossed the line in spots 147, 151, 153 and 155. John Davis (Kenova, W.Va.) ran a time of 35:31.9 for 173rd. Princeton claimed the top spot for the women's team, while Georgetown took the crown on the men's side. Results 25.
