NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Marshall University women's cross country team was named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association list of All-Academic Teams for 2007.

In all, 158 Division I women's programs received the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honor. There are 325 teams in NCAA Division I that sponsor women's cross country.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet.

The team must also have a minimum of 3.00 team cumulative grade point average. Marshall had a 3.40 cumulative GPA.

"I am really proud of these girls," women's cross country coach Jeff Small said. "They run hard and study hard."
