RICHMOND, KY. - The Marshall University cross country teams will start their 2008 campaign with a dual meet against Eastern Kentucky Friday.

Last year, the Thundering Herd ran in a similar event that included host EKU and the University of Kentucky.

Conference-USA's 2007 Newcomer of the Year sophomore Eric Frohnapfel (Morgantown, W.Va.) is the top returner from last season at EKU who placed 20th with a time of 20:16.6.

On the women's side, returning is sophomore Kathleen Clark (Twinsburg, Ohio) who placed 19th with a finish of 12:27.9 at EKU.

The men's and women's events will take place on EKU's woodchip trail, located on the by-pass across from Roy Kidd Stadium.
