Eastman and Swisher Pace Marshall in First Cross Country Meet of Season

Versailles, Ky.—Stephanie Eastman finished 5th and Shelby Pride a step behind with 6th to pave the way for the Marshall women while Craig Swisher placed 10th to set the pace for the men at the 2003 Woodford XC Trials, hosted by the University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University.
Eastman finished with a time of 12 minutes and 26.60 seconds and Pride finished with 12 minutes and 26.90 seconds to pace the women’s team to a third place finish. Other placers for the Herd were Sarah Corley 9th, Varinka Barbini 14th, Stephanie Achillies 25th, and Ryan Metheny 28th.
Swisher’s time of 16 minutes and 48.60 seconds led the way for the men’s squad who finished fourth overall in the meet. Brad Kohler and Mike Jones were the next highest placers for the men at 23rd and 26th.
Both the men and women’s cross country teams will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Athens, Ohio, to face rival opponent Ohio University.
