HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- Marshall cross country will square off with Cincinnati and Kentucky State in the Queen City Invite hosted by the Bearcats on Friday, Sept. 15 starting at 4 p.m. The meet marks the Herd's second meet of the season.

The women's 5k race will open competition at 4 p.m. Last year Marian Brooks led the Herd women's squad by placing seventh with a time of 20:09.64. Marshall placed third behind Cincinnati and Morehead State.

The men's 8k event will start 45 minutes following the start of the women's race at 4:45 p.m. Jon Nelson rounded out the top 10 with a time of 27:04.63 last year. In the 2005 race, the men's squad placed third behind Cincinnati and Morehead State.

On Sept. 1 Marshall opened the season at Eastern Kentucky.
