Cross Country to Compete at Lakefront Invitational

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University Cross Country teams will travel to Chicago, Ill, to participate in the 2003 Lakefront Invitational, Friday.

Both squads are coming off solid weekend performances, where they placed third overall in both men’s and women’s standings at the Richmond Invitational, Richmond, Va. Junior Craig Swisher (Bidwell, Ohio), will look to lead the Herd for a third straight meet. At Richmond Swisher finished third overall and so far this season has placed in the top ten constantly.

On the women’s side, the duo of senior Shelby Pride (Bethel, Ohio) and junior Stephanie Eastman (Spencer, W.Va.), will attempt to add to this season’s success for the women’s squad. Pride has finished in the top ten in every meet this season, including a seventh place finish at Richmond. Eastman has claimed two top ten finishes this season and is looking for her third.

The Herd will take a week off after the 2003 Lakefront Invitational and then travel to Richmond, Ky., to participate in the Eastern Kentucky Invitational.
