HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- Jon Nelson (Barboursville, W.Va.) and Marian Brooks (Flat Top, W.Va.) will lead the Herd into the last meet of the regular season on Friday at the Eastern Kentucky Open in Richmond, Ky. Marshall will be competing against Western Kentucky, Morehead State, Kentucky State, Union College, Eastern Kentucky and Asbury College.

All members of the men's team will be competing in the final regular season meet. Rookie Herd members Stephen Velott (Harrisburg, Pa.) and Steven Burr (Gowanda, N.Y.) will both be running in their first meet of the season. Nelson has been the most consistent finisher for the men's team, as the first Herd runner to cross the finish line in every meet this season.

The woman's squad is coming off of its highest finish after finishing seventh in the Furman Invitational last weekend. Brooks, one of the top women's runners, will help lead the Herd to a strong finish in the regular season. Competing next to Brooks is Emily Bailey (Kenova, W.Va.), Anna Chaney (Huntington, W.Va.), Fabiola Gonzales (Huntington, W.Va.), Hannah Koverick (Hurricane, W.Va.), Rebecca Minardi (Dayton, Ohio), Terryn Webb (Beckley, W.Va.) and other top finisher Stephanie Eastman (Spencer, W.Va.).

The women's 5K will lead the competition off at 4 p.m. and the men's 8k will follow at 4:45 p.m. The race will take place at the Arlington Golf Course.
