Herd Trio Ready To Leave Mark At MAC Championships

HUNTINGTON, WV-Marshall’s Stephanie Eastman, Shelby Pride and Sarah Corley enter Saturday’s Mid-American Conference Championships at Oxford, OH on a hot streak. The trio has collectively finished in the top-10 of the Thundering Herd’s last three cross country meets.
Pride and Corley started their streaks of consecutive top-10 finishes September 7 at the Midland Early Bird Invitational at Ona, WV. Pride finished first with a time of 19:32, while Corley finished fourth. Two weeks later, Pride finished third at the Greensboro Cross Country Invitational behind Eastman and Corley finished sixth.
In Marshall’s last meet at Eastern Kentucky, Pride and Corley rounded-out the top-10 placing ninth and tenth respectfully. Pride recorded a season-best time of 19:20 and Corley finished in 19:29.
Eastman has yet to finish out of the top-10 this season and carries an individual streak of four straight top-10 finishes into the MAC Championships. The Spencer, WV native recorded a career-best time of 18:49 two weeks ago at the Eastern Kentucky Invitational. Eastman has two second place finishes this season at the Greensboro Cross Country Invitational and the Midland Early Bird Invitational.
The Thundering Herd women enter the MAC Championships with a team record of 7-4.
