Men's and Women's Cross Country Conclude MAC Championship Action

    TOLEDO, Ohio - The men's and women's cross country teams concluded their Mid-American Conference season on Saturday at the MAC Championships. The men placed eighth while the women finished in 13th.

    Senior Jason Pyles (Galipolis Ferry, W.Va.) was the top Herd finisher on the men's side, placing 42nd with a time of 26:55.85. Freshman Jon Nelson (Barboursville, W.Va.) finished just behind Pyles in 46th with a time of 27:06.80.

    On the women's side the top finisher for the Herd was freshman Emily Bailey (Kenova, W.Va.) who placed 100th in a time of 22:35.85. Finishing in 101st place was junior Stephanie Achilles (Deptford, N.J.) with a time of 22:42.60.

    The men's team championship was captured by Central Michigan, this was the third consecutive championship for CMU. The Chippewas' Tristan Perlberg also captured the men's individual title (24:42.25). The women's champion was Kent State. Winning the women's individual title was Jenny Koeppel (17:51.70) of Buffalo.
