Cross Country Teams Place 22nd and 24th at NCAA Regional Championships

LOCKHAVEN, Pa. - The Marshall University Cross Country teams finished their season Saturday at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships in Lockhaven, Pa. The men’s team finished with a score of 703 for 24th place, while the women finished in 22nd place with a score of 605.
Junior Craig Swisher (Bidwell, Ohio) was the top finisher for the men, placing 104 with a time of 33 minutes and 10 seconds in the 10-kilometer race. Sophomore Stephanie Achillies (Deptford, N.J.) was the top finisher for the women placing 68th with a time of 22 minutes and 41 seconds in the 6 kilometer race.
Villanova took the regional championship for the men and Georgetown won on the men’s side. Penn State’s Dan Mazzocco won the men’s individual crown with a time of 30 minutes and 26 seconds. Georgetown’s Treniere Clement won the women’s title with a time of 20 minutes and two seconds.
