Cross Country Teams Place 21st and 23rd at NCAA Regional Championships

DAVIS, WV—The Marshall cross country teams finished their season Saturday at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships in Davis, W.Va. The men’s team finished with a score of 634 for 21st place, while the women finished in 23rd place with a score of 608.
Jason Pyles (Gallipolis Ferry, WV) was the top finisher for the men, placing 114 with a time of 33 minutes and 41 seconds in the 10-kilometer race. Sophomore Stephanie Eastman (Spencer, WV) was the top finisher for the women placing 86th with a time of 23 minutes and 33 seconds in the 6-kilomerter race.
Georgetown took the regional championship for the women and Villanova won the men’s side. West Virginia’s Megan Metcalfe won the women’s individual crown with a time of 20 minutes and 32 seconds. Georgetown’s Mike Smith won the men’s title with a time of 30 minutes and 28 seconds.
