MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Marshall baseball team will play its second Conference USA road series of 2007 when it visits the Memphis Tigers at Nat Buring Stadium for a three-game set beginning Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET. Game two on Saturday will begin at 3 p.m. ET and the final game will start at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Marshall (14-20, 0-8) is looking to capture its first C-USA win of the season while Memphis (24-14, 8-4) is coming off a three-game sweep of league foe UAB last weekend. The Tigers also swept a home-and-home series this week with intra-state rival Austin Peay by scores of 4-3 and 13-7 while Marshall dropped its 15th straight at Eastern Kentucky on Tuesday.

Thundering Herd left fielder Jeff Rowley (Buffalo, N.Y.) and center fielder Mason Chapman (Barboursville, W.Va.) own a seven -and six-game hit streak, respectively - both their season-best marks. Over the last seven games, Chapman is hitting a team-best .478 (11-for-23) with six runs, five RBI and two stolen bases. During that same stretch, Rowley is hitting .458 (11-for-24), with a home run and team-highs in RBI (6), total bases (17) and slugging percentage (.708).

Memphis infielder Michael Murray, who went 4-for-4 on Wednesday versus Austin Peay, leads the Tigers with a .360 batting average with 27 runs scored and 18 RBI. Second baseman Bill Moss is second on the team with a .336 average with a team-best nine home runs while preseason C-USA selection Adam Amar, a first baseman, is hitting .314 with 24 RBI.

The Tigers pitching staff is anchored by left-hander Dusty Davis (5-1). The senior owns a 3.23 ERA with 23 strikeouts in 39.0 innings pitched. Sophomore reliever Matt Yokley owns a team-best six saves on the season.

Memphis swept Marshall 3-0 in 2006 in the first meeting ever between the two schools, coming at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston, W.Va.
