We played one of the top teams in the league, certainly an NCAA tournament-caliber team.

On Daryl Merthie at the point in relief of injured Chris Ross

It's a tough assignment for a young guy to play against a fast, athletic team like Houston

We weren't good against the press. We didn't come meet the ball and we threw it up in the air too much.

We didn't do the things we needed to do to beat their press.

Tom Penders
We're pleased to get a win on the road against one of the more athletic teams in our conference. They're a well-coached team. Anytime you can win on the road it's huge.

We jumped them early with our pressure and got them a little rattled. Without Ross out there, we thought we could get away with it (full-court press).

We did the same thing at Tulsa last week. We got the momentum, got the lead and got our confidence.

We were in a great rhythm against their man. I thought it was a good strategic move to go into the zone, it slowed us down a bit.

Mark Dorris
We missed him (Chris Ross) a lot tonight, with his leadership and ability to bring the ball up the floor.
