Marshall Football Visits South Charleston Saturday

3/24/2004

For the fifth consecutive year, Marshall football coach Bob Pruett will take his Thundering Herd on the road for a practice session.

The 2004 edition of the Thundering Herd will practice at South Charleston's Oakes Field Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m. until noon. Gates to the field open at 8 a.m.

This year marks the third year in a row that Marshall has conducted a spring practice in South Charleston. The last two practices at Oakes Field have drawn crowds of more than 2,000 to watch the Thundering Herd workout.

Marshall University representatives will be in attendance with information on tickets and the Big Green Scholarship Foundation.

Admission to the practice is free and open to everyone. Advance tickets for giveaways are available at the South Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau, Marshall University's South Charleston Campus, South Charleston City Hall, Dunbar Printing, and at the South Charleston Community Center.

The South Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau is sponsoring several events and activities in conjunction with the practice. For more information contact the bureau at 304-746-5552.
