Early Herd Special A “Magnificent” Opportunity For Marshall Football Fans

Now Marshall is offering Herd fans a “Magnificent” way to make sure they are on hand for every exciting moment of the 2002 season, which features six exciting games at Marshall Stadium. It’s called the “Early Herd” Special, and it gives Marshall fans an extra incentive to purchase their 2002 season tickets early.

“We hope that Marshall fans will take advantage of this Early Herd special to help us reach our overall goals of 15,500 overall season tickets sold, as well as 4,000 chair back season tickets sold,” Marshall Director of Athletics Lance West said.

Herd fans who purchase their 2002 Marshall Football season tickets by May 17 will receive the “Early Herd” special, which is a discount off the regular season ticket prices.

“We expect a championship effort from our players every day, and now is the time for all Herd fans to step up and give a championship effort by buying their season tickets,” Marshall coach Bob Pruett said. “We are poised to have a Magnificent season in 2002 and we have a Magnificent offer that all Marshall fans should take advantage of.

“Our success on the field is dependent on the support of our fans. Thundering Herd fans are, without a doubt, the best fans around and I hope they all take advantage of this Magnificent opportunity!”

Sideline tickets will be available for $125, a 13% discount, or $19 savings over single game ticket prices. Magnificent!

End zone tickets will be available for $100, a 17% discount, or $20 savings over single game tickets. Magnificent!

Family plan tickets will be available for $280 end zone and $324 sideline (four ticket per game) at discounts of 30 and 44%. That is a $200-252 savings over the purchase of single game tickets. Magnificent!

Early Herd discounts will also be available for Marshall University faculty and staff, who have the option of using payroll deduction.

These “Early Herd” rates will only be available through May 17. After that date, season ticket packages will return to regular prices. Regular season ticket prices will still provide Herd fans with a discount over the cost of buying tickets on a game-by-game basis.

“The Early Herd special is a great incentive for Marshall fans, but we are also excited about the fact that we will once again be able to offer a youth ticket this season,” West said. “We’ll have more information on that as the season draws near.”

Herd fans planning to renew their seats from last year should expect to receive a package of information in the mail next week with all the details on their Big Green priority points, renewal deadlines, Virginia Tech game ticket order form and parking.

Marshall fans who did not have season tickets in 2001 but who are interested in taking advantage of this “Magnificent” opportunity should call the Marshall Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-THE-HERD or 696-HERD and ask that the 2002 season ticket mailer be sent to them.

Herd fans wanting to learn more about the “Early Herd” special, or who want to go ahead and place their orders for 2002 season tickets, can do so Saturday at Marshall University Stadium prior to the annual Green-White Spring Game. Representatives of the Marshall Ticket Office as well as the Big Green will be on hand to assist fans with any questions they might have and to take their orders.

Make sure you don’t snooze through this offer. Remember, it is the “Early Herd” that gets to play for championships, and that is what Marshall football is all about. Magnificent!
