The Snyder Era Begins
Green-White Game Saturday

4/15/2005

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University head coach Mark Snyder took to the field at Joan C. Edwards Stadium for the first time Friday morning as the Thundering Herd completed its final practice before Saturday's Green-White game.

"It is great to be back home with the Herd," Snyder said following practice. "There was great enthusiasm out there today. The kids did a great job. It was a high energy practice and I was proud of them."

Practice opened with former Marshall standout and three-time Super Bowl Champion Troy Brown addressing the team. Brown talked to the squad about the importance of teamwork, leadership, and individual responsibility.

The Marshall coaching staff went on to conduct a high paced practice under Snyder's direction as the team readies for Saturday's spring practice finale.

"Saturday is going to be fun," Snyder said. "I told the team I want good effort, for them to have fun, and to show the class that we are going to have as a team."

Kickoff for the Green-White game is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Saturday. Tickets for the event are $5.00 with all proceeds benefiting the Marshall Quarterback Club.

In a related note, the Marshall equipment staff will not have a "Spring Cleaning" sale this year.
