Statement from Marshall Concerning Roger Garrett

5/6/2005

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall University football student-athlete Roger Garrett has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest this morning in Huntington, Mark Snyder, Marshall head coach, said Friday.

Snyder released the following statement regarding the situation.

“We view this as a serious matter and we are aggressively looking into it to learn more about the facts,” Snyder said. "In the mean time Roger has been suspended indefinitely and it appears likely that he could lose his privilege to play football for Marshall University in 2005.”

Garrett, a 6-2, 286 pound defensive lineman from Newton, Ga., played in seven games last season as a sophomore and recorded nine tackles.
