Marshall-Georgia Football Tickets Now Available to General Public
HerdZone.com Now Offering Online Ticketing

7/14/2004

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – A limited number of tickets are now available to the general public for the Marshall-Georgia football game in Athens, Ga., on Sept. 18. And, as a new feature to Marshall’s official athletics website, Thundering Herd fans can now purchase tickets online at www.HerdZone.com.

Priority orders for season ticket holders and Big Green Scholarship Foundation members have been filled by the MU ticket office, and a limited number of the $34 tickets are currently available for the general public to purchase.

Tickets may be ordered at the Athletic Ticket Office in the Cam Henderson Center or by phone by calling 1-800-THE HERD/(304) 696-4373. Further, as of 8 a.m. on July 14, orders can also be placed online at www.Herdzone.com by clicking on any of the ticket icons on the site.

The match-up against the Bulldogs, ranked No. 1 in the CNN/SI preseason power rankings, will be the Herd’s third game of the season after a home battle with Troy State on Sept. 4, and a bout with national power Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio, on Sept. 11.

Marshall season tickets are still on sale through the ticket office; however, Marshall has no tickets remaining for the Ohio State game.

Individuals who have already ordered tickets for the Georgia game should be receiving their tickets by mail during the last week of July, according to Director of Athletic Ticketing Michael Carpenter.

Fans purchasing tickets online can expect to pay a $2 per ticket fee which incurs the costs of Internet ticketing. Online orders will also be assessed a per order processing fee of $3 for single game tickets and a $6 per order processing fee for season tickets.

Online ticket buyers will be assigned seat locations and can choose to have their tickets mailed or picked up will call on game day. Currently, locations are only available for season ticket purchases; single game ticket locations will be released on Aug. 1, 2004.

“We are very excited to offer fans the opportunity to buy Herd tickets online and are looking forward to offering this service for the football season, as well basketball this fall,” Carpenter said.
