Men's Golf Concludes Palmetto Intercollegiate in 14th Place

Palmetto Intercollegiate - FINAL RESULTS Get Acrobat Reader

AIKEN, S.C. - The Marshall men's golf team shot a 315 in the final round of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate on Tuesday to finish the event, played at Palmetto Golf Club, in 14th place.

The Herd added 12 strokes to its second-round 303 yesterday to finish 10 strokes ahead of last place Nebraska with a 932. Marshall's Christian Brand, a sophomore, finished in a tie for 22nd place with a 223 (75-71-77).

Herd junior Nathan Kinker (t-45) carded a 231 (79-74-78) for the event while Jonathan Pepe and Bennett Boyer posted scores of 241 apiece (t-71).

UT-Chattanooga (850) won the tournament, 30 strokes ahead of second-place Virginia Tech (880). UTC's Jonathan Hodge claimed medalist honors just one stroke ahead of a three-way tie for second place.

The Herd's next event will be in Pinehurst, N.C., for the Pinehurst Intercollegiate from March 16-18.
