Men's Golf In 13th Place After Second Round Of Pinehurst Intercollegiate

PINEHURST, N.C. - The Thundering Herd men's golf team is in 13th place out of 18 teams after the second round of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate at Pinehurst #8 with a team total of 613 (304-309). Indiana (297-293) and Michigan (298-292) lead the tournament with a 590. Herd junior Trent Schambach (Glen Dale, W.Va.), who led after the first round of the tournament with a 69, fired a second-round 75 to end the day in a tie for fifth with a two-round total of 144. Jorge Campillo shot a tournament-best 67 on Monday to take the lead with a total of 140 (73-67). Campillo's 67 and Schambach's 69 are the only two sub-70 rounds in the tournament so far. Other Herd scores in the tournament are Shawn Warren (Windham, Maine), who is at 153 (75-78, T-41), Christian Brand (Charleston, W.Va.), who ended the day at 154 (79-75, T-48), Chris Tipper (Parkersburg, W.Va.) with a 166 (85-81, 93), and Jonathan Pepe (McKeesport, Pa.), who is at 167 (81-87, 94). Andy Foster (Vinton, Va.) posted a 161 (83-78, T-82) as an individual. The final 18 holes begins Tuesday at 9 a.m. ###
