GREENVILLE - The Marshall men's golf team is in a tie for 8th place out of 20 teams with a team score of 591 (300-291). East Carolina leads the tournament with a score of 581 (288-293).

Senior Shawn Warren (Windham, Maine) is the Herd's leading scorer after two rounds with a 145 (72-73). Ryan Spyniewski of Virginia Tech and Ben Spitz of Rhode Island lead after two rounds with a score of 141.

Marshall's other scorers were Trent Schambach (Glen Dale, W.Va.), who fired a second-round 69 and has a two-round total of 146 (77-69, T-18), Jonathan Pepe (McKeesport, Pa.), who is at 150 (76-74, T-46), Christian Brand (Charleston, W.Va.), who is at 151 (76-75, T-55), and Andy Foster, who has a two-round total of 154 (76-78, T-51). Chris Tipper (Parkersburg, W.Va.) played as an individual and has a total of 158 (80-78, T-99).

The final round of the Furman Intercollegiate takes place Sunday morning.
