TEXARKANA, Ark. - Freshman Christian Brand (Charleston, W.Va.) leads the Marshall men's golf contingent at the 2007 C-USA Championships after firing a two-under par, 70, on Monday to put himself into a tie for fourth in the tournament. Marshall is in ninth place as a team and has a two-round total of 593 (300-293).

Brand is in a tie for fourth in the tournament with a two-day total of 142 (72-70), and is two strokes back of the leaders, Ryan Henry of Tulsa and Jordan Irwin of Houston, who stand at 140.

The Golden Hurricane lead the tournament with a 570 (285-285), 14 strokes better than second-place UAB (298-286=584).

Marshall's other scores from the second of the day of the tournament are:

Shawn Warren (Windham, Maine) - 73-73=146, T-13 Trent Schambach (Glen Dale, W.Va.) - 75-72=147, T-17 Phil DiLorenzo (Wellston, W.Va.) - 80-78=158, 52 Brandon Katzeff (Uniontown, Pa.) - 84-80=164, 54

The final round of the tournament begins on Tuesday morning.
