TEXARKANA, Ark. - Marshall senior Shawn Warren (Windham, Maine) ended his career with a stellar performance at the 2007 C-USA Championships at the Texarkana Country Club with a fifth place finish, which placed him on the Conference USA All-Tournament team. Warren finished the tournament with an even-par, 216, after firing a third-round 70.

The Herd finished in ninth place after posting a three-round total of 897 (300-293-304). The University of Tulsa won the tournament with a nine-under, 855 (285-285-285). UAB finished 20 strokes back in second place with a 875 (298-286-291).

UAB's Garrett Osborn earned medalist honors with a four-under, 212 (69-73-70). Nicolas Geyger of Tulsa, Jordan Irwin of Houston, and Brett Meyers of Tulsa all finished in a tie for second with a total of 213.

Marshall also got a great performance from 2007 C-USA Freshman of the Year Christian Brand (Charleston, W.Va.), who ended the tournament in a tie for 12th with a total of 220 (72-70-78), despite a final round of 78. Trent Schambach (Glen Dale, W.Va.) finished in the top 20 with a tie for 16th place finish after posting a 222 (75-72-75). Other Herd scorers were Phil DiLorenzo (Wellston, W.Va.) with a 239 (80-78-81), and Brandon Katzeff (Uniontown, Pa.), who ended the tournament with a 246 (84-80-82).

 

 

The tournament concludes Marshall's 2006-07 campaign.
