Marshall Golf Team Finishes 13th At Kent State

RAVENNA, Ohio - Marshall University's golf team shot a two-round total of 607 to place 13th out of 19 teams at Kent State University's First Energy Collegiate this weekend at the Windmill Lakes Country Club.

Marshall was led by Aaron Williams who shot rounds of 76 and 73 to finish tied for 35th at 149. The Thundering Herd's other scores were: Steve Sisson, 76-77=153; Tim Lynch, 81-73=154; Brian Perry, 83-74=157; Justin Dalton, 77-85=162.

Kent State won the tournament with a score of 574. The Golden Flashes were led by the tournament's individual champion Jon Mills who shot rounds of 68 and 66 to record a score of 134 on the par 70 course. Michigan State finished second at 584, followed by Toledo and Notre Dame at 585.

The event, originally scheduled for three rounds, was shortened to two after the second round was rained out.

Marshall will next compete in Michigan State University's Fossum Invitational at the Forest Akers Golf Course in East Lansing, April 27-29.
