WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - A putt by senior Whitney Wolejko on the second playoff hole gave the Marshall University women's golf team the win in today's final round of the First Market Bank Intercollegiate.

James Madison University, who began the day ten strokes behind the Thundering Herd, overcame the deficit to force a playoff before Marshall prevailed in two playoff holes. Marshall shot a 305 in day one, followed by a 327 in day two while JMU shot a 315 and a 317.

Bradley finished third, three strokes behind Marshall and James Madison.

In day two, Larie Lynch shot a 78 en route to a tie for fourth place overall. She shot a 75 in Saturday's opening round for a total of 153, six shots over par.

After shooting a 74 on Saturday, Andrea Grier followed that up with an 81 on her way to a tie for sixth overall.

Kristina Garrett finished third for Marshall, tying for 45th. She led MU with a 73 on Saturday before finishing the tournament with a 165.

Rounding out the Herd were Molly Ginger, who tied for 56th and Wolejko, who tied six other golfers for 62nd.

Erais Bari-Lynn of Bradley took the overall championship, finishing two strokes over par with a 146. Kelly Lynch of JMU and Chelsea Curtis of Georgetown tied for second, four strokes behind Bari-Lynn.

The Herd will look to keep the momentum going following its weekend triumph as it will travel to next weekend's Cincinnati Spring Invite. The tournament will take place at the Plantation Inn Golf Club in Crystal River, Florida. It is scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
