CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. - Following its First Market Bank Intercollegiate championship last weekend, the Thundering Herd women's golf team will return to action with this weekend's Cincinnati Spring Invitational.

The tournament, which will take place on Friday and Saturday, is being hosted by the University of Cincinnati at Plantation Golf Resort in Crystal River, Florida. Conference USA rival UAB is among the teams the Herd will face in the contest.

Last weekend, the Herd took home the First Market Bank Intercollegiate championship, topping James Madison in a two-hold playoff. A putt by senior Whitney Wolejko clinched the win for Marshall.

Sophomore Larie Lynch tied for fourth place, shooting a two-round total of 153. Andrea Grier tied for sixth place, two strokes behind Lynch.

The Herd shot a 632 over the two-day tournament, tied with JMU. Bradley University finished third with a 635, followed by Methodist with a 637.

Marshall will begin the Cincinnati Spring Invitational in Friday's opening round before finishing up on Saturday.
