Liberty's Caron Signs With Women's Golf
11/26/2001
Marshall University Director of Golf Joe Feaganes announced today that the women’s golf program has signed Sheena Caron of Raleigh County, W.Va., the first recruit for the revived program.
Caron finished 15th at the West Virginia High School Tournament last year and third in the Twin Falls Junior Open. She was an All-Coalfield Conference selection who recorded a 38.5 (9 holes) stroke average at Liberty High School. Caron was also honorable mention All-State in basketball.
“Sheena is a diamond in the rough,” Feaganes said. “She does not have much state or national exposure, but once she gets to college and focuses on golf she will be a very fine player. We are very happy that she is the first recruit for our women’s golf team.”
