HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall women's golf coach Meredith Knight announced the signing of local product Larie Lynch to a National Letter of Intent. Lynch will join the Thundering Herd in the fall of 2006.

Lynch, a Huntington High School product, was the 2004-05 West Virginia Girls Junior Amateur Champion. Along with that prestigious accomplishment, Lynch was named the Top Flite Female Player of the Year and the West Virginia Golf Association Girls Junior Player of the Year.

The junior champion then placed fifth in the West Virginia Women's Amateur Tournament.

"We're excited to have Larie join our team," Knight said. "She'll be a great addition to our program. Her personality alone makes her a remarkable individual, but she's also a superb golfer."

Lynch was the 2004 Parkersburg South Tournament co-medalist and placed third in the Mountain State Athletic Conference Tournament.
