Marshall Soccer's Lindsey Jayjack Named Cam Henderson Scholar

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University women's soccer midfielder Lindsey Jayjack has been named the 1999-2000 Cam Henderson Scholar by the Marshall University Alumni Association.

"This award means a lot to me personally and the entire soccer team, " said Jayjack. "We take great pride in our accomplishments on the field, as well as our work in the classroom."

The award is given yearly to the student-athlete who best exemplifies the spirit of scholarship while participating in athletics. Past winners of the award include: Chad Pennington, Mary Ann Lopez, John Brannen, and Mike D'Antoni.

Jayjack established herself as one of the top midfielders in the Mid-American Conference last season. The native of Dublin, Ohio, started in all 19 matches for the Thundering Herd and recorded 19 points on the year. She led Marshall in assists with seven and scored three goals.

In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Jayjack maintained a 3.86 grade point average, while majoring in accounting.
