Marshall Women's Soccer Continues C-USA Play this Weekend

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall women's soccer team will continue Conference USA play, Friday against Rice University at 7 p.m. to open the Herd's parents' weekend. Marshall and the University of Houston will conclude parents' weekend, Sunday at 1 p.m. at Sam Hood Field.

The Thundering Herd will enter the contest at 3-8-1 overall and a 0-2-1 mark in C-USA. The Owls, ranked 4th in C-USA, will come onto the game with an 8-3-2 overall record and 2-0-1 in C-USA.

The Herd and the Owls only previous meeting came in 2005 when Rice took the win in Houston. The Owls scored two goals in the first period to take the victory over the Herd, 2-0.

Marshall and Houston have also only met once in school history. The Cougars won a home match back in 2005. Houston tallied a goal apiece in each period to take the 2-1 win over Marshall in Texas.

Houston (4-6-1) (0-3-0) will face East Carolina University, Friday, at Greenville, N.C. before traveling to Huntington on Sunday.
