Softball to Host Big MAC Weekend

Nikki Wilcox has been hot for the Herd of late, going 6-for-9 in the team's last conference series against the University at Buffalo. Marshall swept all three contests against the Bulls.

Huntington, W.Va.- The Marshall University softball team is facing an important Mid-American Conference homestand this weekend. The Herd will will square off against Eastern Michigan University for a double-header on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and will play two games against the University of Toledo on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Marshall comes into the weekend with a 10-18 overall record and a 3-3 mark in the MAC. The Herd currently sits tied for fourth place in the MAC east division, with a chance to move up in the standings after this weekend’s contests. With only a month to go in the season, each game now looms large for the Herd.

Eastern Michigan comes in to this weekend’s games with an 8-14 overall record and a 3-3 mark in the MAC. The Eagles took two out of three from Miami University in their last conference series.

The University of Toledo is 7-16-1 overall and 1-4 in the MAC. The Rockets split two games with Western in their last MAC series.

All games this weekend will be played at Dot Hicks Field on the campus of Marshall University and admission is free.
