4/15/2002

The MU softball team turns to observe the national anthem before their last contest versus Akron. Marshall is currently in third place in the MAC East and is fighting for position in the conference tournament.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- The Marshall University softball team will host Ohio University on Wednesday, April 17, for a single Mid-American Conference game. The game will start at 2:00 p.m. and will be played at Dot Hicks Field on the campus of Marshall University. The contest, originally slated for 5:00 p.m., has been moved up due to the Olympic sports banquet that will take place later that evening.

Marshall currently holds third place in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference with a 7-7 mark in the league. The Herd is 14-22 overall and looks to improve their record and standing in the conference against Ohio. MU dropped two games to division leading Akron University, 4-1 and 2-1, in their last MAC series.

Ohio is currently in second place in the East Division of the MAC with an 20-15 overall record and a 9-3 mark in the conference. The Bobcats swept Kent State University on Monday afternoon in a MAC double-header, 3-2 and 3-2.

Admission is free to all Marshall softball games at Dot Hicks Field.
