Drake Named MAC East Pitcher of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio- Marshall University’s De’Shaun Drake was awarded Mid-American Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week. She earned two wins on the mound as the Herd swept Kent State University in a three-game series over the weekend.

In seven innings pitched, the Spring Valley, California native struck out five batters and walked two, posting an ERA of 1.00. In her designated hitter role, Drake also had a successful week at the plate. She went 5-for-10 with two runs scored, two doubles and two RBI, including a game-winning RBI double in the series finale against Kent.
