HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Chicago Bandits along with former Marshall softball standout Rachel Folden earned the top spot in the National Pro Fastpitch's championship series.

The Bandits finished the season with the overall best record of 32-16. The team had clinched a playoff birth two weekends ago.

In the league's preview of the series, Folden was mentioned as one of the players to watch from the Bandits organization.

As a rookie, Folden has batted .311 and is tied for fourth in home runs with 11 and in RBIs as well with 32.

Chicago will open the championship series against the New England Riptide Friday Aug. 22 in Kimberly, Wis. at 6 p.m.
