Swimming and Diving Signs Erika Nilsson

Huntington, W.Va.--Marshall Head Swimming and Diving Coach Leonard Kraus has announced his seventh scholarship signee in Erika Nilsson, a sophomore-to-be from Haninge, Sweden. Nilsson is transferring from Northern Illinois, where she placed fifth at the 2001 MAC Championships in the 500 free, and ninth in both the 200 free and 200 fly.

"Erika is a tremendous swimmer. I am extremely pleased because she is the total package we’re looking for here at Marshall,” said Kraus. “She’s a great swimmer, good student, and outstanding person. She will mean a lot to this team both in the water and out."

Competition for the Herd begins in the fall of 2002.
