Marshall Signs Finnish Swimmer

Huntington, w. va.--Marshall University Head Women’s Swimming and Diving coach Leonard Kraus announced the signing of Milla M. Kuurto of Lohja, Finland, to a National Letter of Intent today. Kuurto becomes the second Finnish swimmer to sign with the Herd. Earlier this year, Kraus signed Liisa Raty, a multi-event swimmer from Espoo, Finland, to compete for Marshall this fall.

“Milla gives this team a strong flyer, someone we can depend on in those events in dual meets as well as scoring at the MAC Championships,” said Kraus. “She also gives us much needed depth in the 50,100, and 200 free events.”

Marshall’s swimming and diving season opens on October 26th against Youngstown State at the newly remodeled Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium in the Cam Henderson Center.
