Jones Runs Away With Hurdle Titles at Green and White Invite

ATHENS,Ohio - Junior Breanna Jones took both the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles titles at the Green and White Invite hosted by Ohio University Saturday.

The Columbia, S.C. native took the 100-meter hurdle with a time of 14.63 and the 400-meter with a time of 1:05.09.

Senior Teniqua Sutton also captured two events to match Jones, taking the long jump and triple jump events.

Sutton earned the long jump event with a mark of 5.65m and the triple jump with a leap of 12.16m.

The Thundering Herd also managed to pick up three runner-up spots in the 100-meter, 800-meter and the 3000-meter steeplechase.

Freshman Kristin Smith finished the 100-meter in 12.70 less than second behind Berea's Lititia Hemanes.

Smith's classmates Kathleen Clark and Hannah Henderson took second place in the 800-meter (2:22.72) and the 3000-meter steeplechase (12:22.22) respectively.

Marshall University women's track will have 12 days to prepare for the Conference USA Outdoor Championships in El Paso, Texas. The event will run from May 13-15.
