SOPHOMORE SEASON
Was a key ingredient to Marshall's success in 2007...Played in 122 games and all 32 matches...dug a third-best 309 balls...tallied a team-high 61 service aces...blasted 158 kills...totaled a personal-best 19 kills and season-high 19 digs Aug. 31 against Gardner-Webb...served up six aces in two different matches...had 17 double-digit dig contests...added 23 total blocks (3 solo, 20 assisted)...averaged 2.53 digs per game...earned the "Amber Sims Workhorse Award" at annual postseason banquet.
FRESHMAN SEASON
In her first season with the Herd, Marcum started 26 matches and recorded 165 kills and 190 digs and added 34 blocks. Marcum set a collegiate career-high with 18 kills against Radford on Aug. 26 and again on Sept. 8 against Lehigh. She also posted a collegiate career-high 23 digs against Radford. Marcum also contributed five total blocks on Aug. 30 against Xavier.
PRIOR TO MARSHALL:
Marcum comes to Marshall from Arlington, Texas' Lamar High School where she had a 3.9 GPA... in 2003 she was the newcomer of the year and first team all-district... 2004 she earned the Lamar Outstanding defensive player... was named to the Duncanville All-Tournament team... and was named to the Star-Telegram All-Arlington team, All-Lonestar team, and District Champion... 2005 she was named the Arlington Invitational MVP... Dallas Morning News Player of the Week...first team All-district... Star-Leger All-Arlington team... Lamar outstanding offensive and defensive player and team MVP... in her three year varsity career she finished with 107 aces, .320 passing percentage, 1,020 kills, 1,027 digs... She made 7 kills in the Texas All-Star game and was ranked as one of the Top 250 seniors by PrepVolleyball... She is undecided on her major at this time.
